Cal Poly Pomona Athletic Director Brian Swanson said Wednesday that Maria Carrillo’s Justin Herold still has a scholarship to play basketball at the CCAA Division II school next year. “We’re looking forward to Justin joining the program,” Swanson said. Maria Carrillo senior Justin Herold, among the leading scorers in the Redwood Empire, and who accepted an athletic scholarship to Cal Poly Pomona, has been removed from the team for an administrative reason, according to head coach Jerry Deakins.
