I just got done talking to Tomales football coach Leon Feliciano.
He reminded me of how difficult it is to coach in the small school ranks. Dropping enrollment, soccer the same time of year and a changing student body can affect drastically a small school football team.

Montgomery really didn’t play all that bad in its opener. It’s just that Grant of Sacramento was that good.
The Pacers had better than average size, excellent speed and their tacklers never missed.

I will be writing a high school blog beginning this weekend with items I won’t necessarily use in game stories or high school notebooks.
Many times you might observe things at a high school football game, for instance, that you don’t write about because it doesn’t fit in a story or because there’s not enough room for it in the paper.
