Cardinal Newman QB James expects to play

Cardinal Newman quarterback Jack James expects to play when the Cardinals visit Petaluma on Friday in the NCS Division II quarterfinals.
James missed Cardinal Newman’s 7-0 first-round win against Windsor after suffering a concussion in the second quarter of the Cardinals’ final regular-season game against Maria Carrillo on Nov. 13.
The concussion went undetected and James stayed in the game, but he has no memory of playing. He had headaches, dizziness and nausea in the days following the game.
On the sidelines at Windsor on Saturday, James said he was feeling much better and was confident he’d play against Petaluma.

Once the game was complete, we discovered that he had a concussion. Jack has had prior concussions, so last year we took him to “The Concussion Institute” in L.A., to have him evaluated. The Concussion Institute consults for college and professional sports. The doctors at the institute ran Jack thru extensive testing and gave us specific return-to-play guidelines if Jack were to receive another concussion. You can be confident that we are taking every precaution, consulting with the coaching staff, and Jack will only play if he can physically meet the return-to-play guidelines.

Glad to hear they not only took all the proper precautions, but that Jack gets to play again this year. Best of luck to him and the rest of his team this Friday against Petaluma.

Hi David James. Remember when Max and Jack played on The Stallion Midgets. He’s a great Kid and tremendous competor. Head and knee injuries are the absolutly the worst part of the game. It’s been a brutal year it seems for all teams. We checked in on Max’s Friend Dylan McBeth (MC) and his head injury. I’m told he will be fine. Max and I are wishing Jack the best. Let’s hope all players stay out of harms way. Hang in there Dad.

To the Individual above who said ” We all know that Trojans are destined to fall. ” Sorry but you were wrong !!! Next time Calbooster04 why don’t you try not saying anything negative about the other teams. This is a Forum for Discussions and Encouragement not Humilation to others. Thxs!
Congrats to the Petaluma Trojans _ A much well deserved Team!!!
