How many jrs. on this team. Most jvs are only fr/so. Healdsburg totally outplayed Windsor only to lose on the scoreboard. What happens to these jv teams once the get to varsity? Bad coaching? They should be much better considering thir school size.

hawkeye I think there was only 1-2 jrs. this year and last year was about 3-4. And you’re right about once the JV get to varsity, I think it is bad coaching but who am I to say, but the results sure look like it. And considering their school size they should have more of a turnout for football but it seems like a lot don’t go out for it or they have quit after Windsor knights or after JV.

So Petaluma gets to face the team that gave them their toughest game this year. Could be an interesting game.

  13. November 15th, 2009 4:52 pm

Yep, get that one out of the way first…I still think we can beat them. I think PHS can beat Windsor or Cardinal Newman, GO PHS!!

Way to go, PHS! 10-0 and an SCL title! Good job; you really handled the rest of the league, but you did it with grace. Coach Ellison and your team has represented the community very well. Thank you and keep winning!

I didn’t want to play RC and had predicted Maria Carrillo. But I’m hearing RC’s QB is out because of academic reasons. Big loss for RC.

for the windsor jvs there varsity team is combined of TWO undeafeated JVs teams and yet with injuryes they cant get far they would have challenged LUMa for going 10-0 if cam was there but he isnt there but i am from windsor and the JVS are always amazing its the varsity curse that they can never win at varsity i dont know if it fader or not i not a fan of him but dustin is good at jvs and i looked at the team only one junior who doesnt play much they win with sophs and thats it. Dustin wouldnt win at varsity level because he is good at building a player but some how they dont win at varsity very annoying as student

I want to give props to Kirkpatrick, his coachinng staff, and the players. They’re opening up the playoffs against a road warrior Miramonte team. It also speaks well that HHS’s losses were to Petaluma (speaks for itself), 9-1 Casa, 9-1 Alhambra, and an overtime game to Div II rival Windsor. Go Hounds!

  18. November 15th, 2009 8:57 pm

And HHS actual enrollment this year puts them in Div IV since they are no longer allowing transfers.

    by hawkeye

  19. November 16th, 2009 2:32 pm

hawkeye then maybe you should talk to HHS to petition to move down to Div IV. Like Newman petition to move up and play in Div II with only 852 in enrollment. That way they can play 10-0 Ferndale and 9-1 Middletown and Cloverdale or 8-2 St Mary’s and Ft Bragg. That way they would have some competition in Div IV instead of Div III since they’re such a small school.

wow guest. Did HBG beat you with half the enrollment? Got kind of a chip. Just stating facts. HBG excels with what they have with good coaching and dedicted, hard working player who don’t quit.

In Healdsburg’s defense for playing in Div III football, last season, they opened up with a win over now-Div IV McKinleyville, 28-14, then played heavily-favored top 20 Bay Area team Miramonte, a team that I believe overlooked the Hounds for the Novato game, and Healdsburg was tied in that game 20-20 until a final Miramonte TD with 11 seconds left in the game. Healdsburg got their character built this year in one of the best SCL seasons in a very long time. Healdsburg is competitive in Div III. Go Hounds
