Ed Lloyd on Jason Franci and the record

Ed Lloyd says he’s never spent much time thinking about his career win total of 217. And now that his Empire record is about to be toppled, Lloyd isn’t losing too much sleep over it.
Montgomery’s Jason Franci is tied with Lloyd at 217 wins. Franci, 66, can break the record Friday night when the Vikings visit Maria Carrillo.
“To the extent you have any attachment to a record you want to see it broken by someone you respect as a person and as a coach,” Lloyd said. “And that’s certainly how I feel about Jason. I have a tremendous amount of respect for Jason and his coaching ability. I’m sure the people of Montgomery High realize how lucky they are to have him.”
Lloyd, 67, is retired and lives in Riverbank, near Modesto. He had a 163-32-8 record at Cardinal Newman from 1966-85. He went 48-17-1 at Piner from 1986-91 and 6-15 at Analy from 1994-95.

Get back on the horse Coach Lloyd, you could take any job you applied for! Imagine the press on Ed Lloyd earning his record back in 2010! I know it would never happen but would make good material to write a story on…
