Hawaii quarterback Greg Alexander, a former star at Piner High and Santa Rosa Junior College, will be on ESPN2 at 5 p.m. today when the Warriors visit Louisiana Tech in their Western Athletic Conference opener.
Alexander, a senior, is off to a great start for 2-1 Hawaii and has surpassed his career-high in passing yards in each of the Warriors’ first three games.
In a 34-33 loss to UNLV last week, he threw for 477 yards and three touchdowns. A week earlier, he threw for 453 yards and three scores in a 38-20 against Washington State.
Alexander has completed 78 of 116 passes for 1,234 yards with nine touchdowns and two interceptions. Alexander, who also leads Hawaii with 104 rushing yards, leads the NCAA in total offense (446.0 yards a game), is second in the nation in passing average and ranks fifth in passing efficiency.
